News:

26/08-04 21:32 : Webmail part of the mailserver is now functional, though for the time being a port needs to be specified, I've chosen port 81, You may argue for another port, like the also much used 8080, but that would require fiddling with my router and that will mean a total reboot afterwards and I do have something against being offline for even the shortest amount of time, I don't actually have to be at any of my computers just have to know they are up and running online 24/7/365. At the same time should anyone who reads this be in dire need of an email adress where limits of size of attachments and amount of mail they can have on the server is only limited to the servers HDD, contact me and I'll create one for you. Same goes if you have any questions of course.

11/08-04 23:47 : Took another stab at setting up a mailserver, and succeeded which means I got myself a new e-mail domain, aliases I can just make as many of as I see fit, but here's one of them: vrenak@talshiar.adsl.dk, both POP3 and SMTP server are up and working completely bypassing my ISPs servers, just call me paranoid. Also got a favourites icon added today, a little romulan eagle, I like it, so you better do too.

09/08-04 18:54 : Got one of my ISPs free domains under the domain *.adsl.dk namely talshiar.adsl.dk. I also edited a bit in the code for the page, nothing major just saving a few characters here and there, no visible changes, but should improve loading time by approximately 0.1%, which I, by writing this, use up, kind of an irony, but in the end, if I hadn't done it the load time would still be even longer. On another note if you have an idea for something I should put here don't hesitate to come forward with it, I really do not bite.

03/08-04 17:56 : Added validation mark for CSS, some subpages have been validated, marks placed at the bottom of each of these pages. I am considering making a new table for the addresslist, also considering making it possible for each person to login and change the information as needed, so far it's just a thought.

01/08-04 23:05 : After painstakingly going through the code, I've managed to weed out all the validation issues, thus earning the right to display the little image at the top of the page, though I did most the work myself I did get som help from two friends, miles_obrien and Big_T, thanks guys :). And that concludes the news this time around.

30/07-04 22:48 : Yeah I've been at it again, a few small updates here and there, and I fixed som validation issues, namely the major ones, ok so you might not have noticed the problems at all due to the fact that most browsers will be able to process the document completely correctly. Just as a point of pride I'd like to eliminate most if not all these bugs, glitches, oversights, call them what you wish. On another note, last sunday there was a 6 hour outage, and no it wasn't me, it was my ISP that due to a fault of someone completely different, their supplier, had a major outage in my part of the country, at least for me this coincided with a small trip. Last but not least since last I have added a lot of new stuff to my fun section, check it, but don't forget to read the disclaimer.

30/06-04 11:44 : Last night I experimented with a small javascript, just to check if it would work as I had hoped, and it did. The script was designed to prevent viewing the page with Internet Explorer, if you tried you would simply be redirected to http://mozilla.org some of you may wonder why I would do that, so here's why; IE is full of bugs and security holes, as recently proven with a new virus that effects only IE, and to top it off it comes from infected IIS servers. Besides this recent threat the list of reasons not to use IE is as long as the distance to the moon... ok that was a slight exaggeration, but really, would you use anything else so hazardous? Moving beyond my little rant here, over the last couple of weeks some subpages have been expanded and developed, everyone is still welcome to give me great ideas, some of the pages will become rather large in size over time, expect to see some of them get a lot bigger over summer as I continue to write on them. For those who might be wondering what I've created the pages with, well two programs were used, for this page and most other subpages; notepad, yes indeed I write it all down in the simplest text editor. for the rest of the pages I've used SOT office, SOT office is an opensource office package for linux originally, and of course includes a html editor, the reason for using this is that I'm a bit too lazy to create these large tables by hand and who needs pretty pages for lists anyways, downside is they get a little bigger than necessary since this kind of program always puts loads of redundant code into it. Should anyone out there wish to redo any of these pages in notepad so they keep their format but follow the style of the other pages do feel free to do so.

09/06-04 16:53 : Again I have updated the site a little more, though the second page is still in it's infancy I trust I will make it blossom into one humongous page ;-), which is why all the stuff that will appear there isn't on this page.

08/06-04 15:18 : It's now official, this is the moment the new frontpage is replacing the old one, I'll prolly update it with some more stuff soon since I have a few ideas on what to put on my website.

08/06-04 00:06 : Well two updates in such a short time... I'll end up updating it all the time ;-). Well after writing a lot and a little copy pasting small parts of the old page code, mainly links and such, I've finished for this time around. This page will replace the old frontpage sometime later today when I've had a few more take a peek and the first ones take another peek too. first critique resulted in: font specifications, font colour changed, timestamps of news underlined, and some minor invisible code change.

07/06-04 22:23 : Ok so now i'm totally redoing this place. As I'm writing this noone can actually get to see this, since I have told noone where to find this file, tester.html doesn't exactly appear on the front page, though right now I'm considering making a link there to it, so any passers by can see my progress... In any case I'll probably just give a direct link to a good friend of mine, and let him check it out from time to time while in development. About time I do something too, it's been almost 5 months since I've done anything about it, definitely need to hone my skills some more. now there's a summer project....

17/01-04 16:55 : Well just about 45 min. ago or so my landlords decided to install an outdoor sensor for the front door nice as that may be, they forgot to tell me they were shutting off power, causing both my computers to, of course, crash. Luckily the damage seems minimal, the main computer suffered a 260 MB dataloss (corrupted files) also it needed a systems resetting as the BIOS had reverted to it's default setting, the clock needed to be reset as well, an error occurred in two programs on restartup. The server machine seems to have survived better, it disrupted writing of logs for both web and FTP server and of course disrupted all services run from it, FTP server, web server, IRC server, bots running from it. The network appears to have suffered no damage router and switch rebooted as expected IP's were assigned as they should and traffic looks like it's returning to normal. And I'd like to take this opportunity to tell anyone who might be reading this I really want some suggestions on what you would like to see on my page.

25/11-03 17:24 : Well having recovered from a bout of the flu I've updated a few things a little, mostly with some fun, just for fun. Take a look further down the page.
